Custom Pools

A Well-Equipped Pool for Smaller Yards

Plenty of Phoenix-area yards don't have room for a big resort-style pool, and plenty of homeowners don't need one. They want a place to cool off on a summer afternoon, sit on a shallow shelf with a drink and let the kids swim. Our Small Pool Package is built for that: 80 linear feet of pool perimeter, starting at $47,900.

A smaller pool still needs good equipment and finishes that last. The package comes with a Pentair IntelliFlo3 variable speed pump, a 320 cartridge filter, a 90 square foot Baja shelf with umbrella sleeves, a mini pebble interior, 6x6 waterline tile and 200 square feet of travertine pavers. Each of those choices makes sense for how pools get used in Arizona.

Who it's for

  • Homeowners with smaller or narrow backyards
  • Families who mainly want a place to cool off and swim during Arizona summers
  • Budget-conscious buyers who still want quality equipment and finishes
  • Anyone who wants a tanning ledge and a travertine deck included from the start

Included

What's in the Package

80 LF Pool Perimeter

Perimeter is the distance around the edge of the pool, measured in linear feet. At 80 linear feet, this is a compact pool sized for smaller backyards. We go over the layout with you during the on-site estimate.

Pentair IntelliFlo3 Variable Speed Pump

The pump keeps water moving through the filter. A variable speed pump can run at lower speeds for most of the day, which uses less electricity than an old single-speed pump. In Arizona, where pumps put in long hours all summer, that shows up on the power bill.

320 Cartridge Filter

A cartridge filter catches dirt, dust and debris as water passes through it, and the 320 rating refers to its filter area. Cartridge filters don't need backwashing, so you aren't dumping pool water to clean them. You take the cartridges out and hose them off, which comes in handy after a monsoon dust storm.

90 SF Baja Shelf With Umbrella Sleeves

A Baja shelf is a shallow tanning ledge inside the pool where you can sit, lay out a lounge chair or let small kids splash. The umbrella sleeves are built into the shelf so you can set an umbrella right in the water and get some shade.

Mini Pebble Interior

Mini pebble is a durable, textured interior finish made with small pebbles. The smaller stones feel smoother underfoot than a standard pebble finish, and pebble holds up well to Arizona sun, heat and pool chemistry.

6x6 Waterline Tile

A band of 6 inch by 6 inch tile runs along the waterline, where the water meets the pool wall. Phoenix's hard water leaves calcium and scale right at that line, and tile is easier to clean than the interior finish and keeps the pool looking finished.

200 SF of Travertine Pavers

Travertine is a natural stone that stays cooler underfoot than concrete, which matters when you're walking barefoot from the house to the pool in July. You get 200 square feet of it around the pool for chairs, a table or a spot to dry off.

Popular Upgrades

Priced as part of your written estimate.

Attached Spa

Add a spa next to the pool for warm soaks in the cooler months and a place to relax at night.

Water Features

Sheer descents, bubblers on the Baja shelf, scuppers or a raised wall feature add sound and movement to a small pool.

Pool Lighting

LED lighting makes the pool usable and good-looking after dark, which is when a lot of Arizona swimming happens in summer.

More Decking

Extend the travertine or add pavers for more lounge space, a dining area or a path to the house.

Outdoor Living Features

Shade structures, a fire feature or an outdoor kitchen can be planned alongside the pool so the whole yard works together.

FAQ

Small Pool Package Questions

What does 80 LF perimeter mean?
LF stands for linear feet. The perimeter is the distance around the outside edge of the pool, so an 80 LF pool measures 80 feet around. We'll go over the layout and how it fits your yard during the on-site estimate.
Is $47,900 the final price?
It's the starting price. Your final price depends on your site and any options or upgrades you choose. We confirm everything in a written estimate after we visit your property.
Can I add a spa or other features?
Yes. The package can be upgraded with a spa, water features, lighting, more decking and outdoor living features. We'll price any upgrades as part of your estimate.
Is financing available?
Yes. Financing is available through our partner, Lyon Financial. You can apply online, and Lyon will show you the options and terms available to you. See our financing page for details.
Why travertine instead of a concrete deck?
Travertine stays cooler underfoot than concrete, which makes a real difference around a pool in Arizona. It's also a natural stone that looks good next to a pebble interior.
Who builds the pool?
AZ Pool Concepts, a family-owned company led by Shawn Walker, who has more than 18 years of experience. We're licensed, bonded and insured, ROC 355056.
