About Ocotillo

Landscaping in Ocotillo, AZ

Ocotillo is a lake-and-golf community in south Chandler, built largely through the 1990s and 2000s around a series of interconnected waterways. Lots are well kept and often larger than the Chandler average, and many back directly onto water or fairway, which makes sightlines a real consideration in pool design.

Because the community is now 20 to 30 years old, Ocotillo has become a strong remodeling market alongside its custom-build work. A lot of what we do here is modernizing original pools: replacing dated plaster with pebble or quartz, swapping cracked concrete decking for travertine, updating tile and coping, and installing efficient equipment.

On waterfront and fairway lots we design so the pool reads as part of the view rather than blocking it. Contact us for a free on-site consultation.

Local Knowledge

Building a Pool in Ocotillo

Every city in the Valley builds a little differently. Here's what actually matters on a Ocotillo project.

Ground & Lot Conditions

Ocotillo sits on flat former farmland with deep, workable soil and straightforward excavation. Homes date mostly from the 1990s and 2000s, so pools are reaching remodel age. Many lots back onto lakes or golf fairways, which introduces sightline, setback, and drainage considerations that interior lots do not have, and mature landscaping can restrict equipment access.

Permits & Approvals

Ocotillo is within the City of Chandler, so pool permits are issued by Chandler and barrier compliance is checked at final inspection. Lake and golf-frontage lots may carry additional setback review, and the community applies architectural standards. We handle both submittals.

What We Build Most Here

Ocotillo is a balanced market tilting toward remodeling as its 1990s and 2000s pools age out of their original finishes. Work centers on new pebble or quartz interiors, travertine decking replacing cracked concrete, and efficient modern equipment.

FAQ

Ocotillo Landscaping Questions

Which Ocotillo neighborhoods do you serve?
We work throughout Ocotillo and the surrounding area, including Ocotillo Lakes, Cantabria Shores, Fulton Ranch, Clemente Ranch, Ocotillo Island, and the neighborhoods around them. If you're just outside Ocotillo we almost certainly still cover you — AZ homeowners across the greater Phoenix Valley are our regular service area.
What are the most common pool projects in Ocotillo?
The work we're asked for most in Ocotillo is pool remodeling & resurfacing, custom pool builds, integrated pool & spa, travertine & paver pool decks. Every project starts with a free on-site consultation so we can assess your actual yard, access, and goals before putting a number to it.
How much does a pool project cost in Ocotillo?
It depends entirely on scope. Resurfacing an existing pool or replacing a deck in Ocotillo is a far smaller project than a new custom pool with decking, a spa, and water features. We give you a free on-site consultation and an itemized estimate, with no obligation and no pressure.
Do you handle the permit for my Ocotillo project?
Yes. We prepare the plans, submit them to the correct authority for your address, pull the permit, and coordinate every inspection through final sign-off. See "Permits & Approvals" above for who issues permits in Ocotillo.
How soon can you start a Ocotillo project?
Typical lead time from signed contract to construction start is 1–3 weeks, depending on permitting, material availability, and crew scheduling. We give you a firm start date at the consultation rather than an open-ended window.
Are you licensed and insured to work in Ocotillo?
Yes. AZ Pool Concepts is a licensed Arizona ROC contractor, bonded and insured, carrying general liability and workers' compensation on every Ocotillo project. Our craftsmanship warranty covers installation and materials carry their manufacturer warranties.
